[Ticket Lottery] How Many People Should You Ask to Help Reach an "80% Win Rate"? (Family & Friends Cooperation Guide)

World Cup 2026 Ticket Lottery Image Ticket

In our previous article, we calculated the odds based on "just the people in your group who are actually going." This time, it's the follow-up: asking family and friends who won't be attending to help with the lottery. In the next article, we'll cover the actual phone steps for asking and the absolute don'ts.

Conclusion: Let's Set "80%" as the Comfort Zone

First, let's set a goal. "Guaranteed win (100%)" is impossible, but if the weather forecast says 80% chance of rain, you'd think "yeah, it's probably going to rain (= I'll probably win)." This time we're aiming for that "reasonably comfortable 80%"target. The concept is simple: drawing lots with 10 people gives better odds than drawing alone. This time,we'll bring in "people who won't go but can enter the lottery for you" to increase those attempts.

First Off: What Exactly Is "One Entry (One Slot)"?

Keep it simple. "One person, one phone, one application" = "1 entry." You alone = 1 entry. You plus your dad = 2 entries. The rule here is: if anyone in the group wins, the whole group can attend.

① The Big Picture: "How Many People Need to Apply in Total?"

Based on our previous findings that "Dallas is popular" and "Monterrey is more manageable," we calculated the total number of people (entries) needed to reach the "80% comfort line." *Don't panic if the numbers seem high — we'll address that later.

Match & Target Seats People Needed for "80%"
Dallas: Pitch-Side 16 people
Dallas: Behind-Goal 8 people
Dallas: Both (for groups of 2 or less) 5 people
Monterrey: Pitch-Side 9 people
Monterrey: Behind-Goal 5 people
Monterrey: Both (for groups of 2 or less) 3 people

"16 people for Dallas pitch-side" — you obviously can't apply 16 times on your own. That's exactly why you need "help."

② Your Homework: "How Many More People Should I Ask?"

This is the most important table. Of course everyone going should apply, but "how many additional family members/friends should each person ask?"is summarized here. This is your"Holiday Season Mission." (If this seems too difficult or you won't gather with family, you may need to solve it with money... We will update on that separately.)

Match & Target Seats Going alone Going as a pair Going as a group of 3 Going as a group of 4
Dallas: Pitch-Side 15 more people needed 7 more people needed 4 more people needed 3 more people needed
Dallas: Behind-Goal 7 more people needed 3 more people needed 1 more person needed 1 more person needed
Dallas: Both (for groups of 2 or less) 4 more people needed 1 more person needed (Not possible) (Not possible)
Monterrey: Pitch-Side 8 more people needed 3 more people needed 2 more people needed 1 more person needed
Monterrey: Behind-Goal 4 more people needed 1 more person needed 0 extra people needed 0 extra people needed
Monterrey: Both (for groups of 2 or less) 2 more people needed 0 extra people needed (Not possible) (Not possible)

How to Read the Table

If you want "4 people going to Dallas Pitch-side seats": The table says "3 more people needed." This means each of the 4 members should ask 3 of their parents or siblings to help. If everyone does their part, you reach 16 total entries and hit the 80% line.
If you want to "go to Dallas alone": The table says "15 more people"... that is quite tough. Solo travelers who want to reach the safe zone inevitably need help from others. However, solo tickets are often used for seating adjustments, so your odds may be slightly better. Resale tickets are also easier to grab as a solo, so you may not need to ask that many people.

Holiday Season "Killer Phrases"

So where do you find these helpers? The answer is simple: your parents and siblings you see over the holidays. No long explanations needed. Just say this:
"I don't need New Year's money this year — instead, can you help me enter the World Cup lottery just once?"
That is all you need to say. If you win, that ticket is worth hundreds of times more than a few thousand yen of New Year's money. The best deal of your life.

Next Time: Don't Waste the Luck You've Gathered

Great, so you found people to help! ...But wait a moment. If they fill in the form carelessly, you could fall into traps like "used the same credit card and got an error" or "everyone entered the same phone number and it was invalidated." Next time, we will cover the input guide with rules to follow when asking for help(simple enough to send via LINE as-is).
